What food and drink customers ask

Read down the panel and the requests are about the experience as much as the food: a date-night restaurant in Rockridge, a quiet coffee shop near Stanford to study, a bar with live music in Berkeley on a Thursday, a winery in Napa that takes walk-ins. Customers name the occasion, the diet, the time of day and sometimes the dog. An assistant can only recommend a place for those requests if it can find those facts stated somewhere it trusts.

Hours matter more here than anywhere. The coffee shop page puts it plainly: “Opening times are the most common error we find. We fix them everywhere so AI never sends someone to a closed door.” Early opening times and late-night hours for boba and dessert are panel details the observatory checks in every answer that names the business.

A menu locked inside a PDF or a photo gives an assistant little to quote. The restaurant signal asks for PDF and image menus to become crawlable pages with dish names and prices, marked up with Menu and Restaurant schema. For a brewery the equivalent is a live tap list with styles and ABV; for a boba shop it is a menu with sweetness levels and dairy-free options. When the panel asks for “fruit tea with real fruit in Cupertino,” the answer depends on whether any shop says so in crawlable text.

Guides, ale trails and tourism boards

Several food and drink signals point outward. Wineries rely on tourism boards and wine guides, breweries on ale trails and regional brewery guides, bars on nightlife roundups. When an assistant builds a day in Sonoma for four people who like Pinot Noir, it pulls from exactly these sources, and the sources-cited reading shows which of them shaped the answer.
